    On 24 and 25 November 2025, the outgoing Prime Minister, Petr Fiala, attended the seventh EU-African Union Summit in Luanda, Angola. Among other topics, the leaders discussed strengthening cooperation in the areas of security and prosperity. The meeting, which commemorated 25 years of partnership between the EU and the African Union, took place during Angola's rotating presidency of the African Union. On the sidelines of the conference, the Prime Minister held talks with the leaders of Mauritania, Ethiopia, Kenya and Côte d'Ivoire also attending an informal summit of EU leaders on Ukraine in Luanda.

    On Saturday, 20 September, the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala and the Minister of Defence Jana Černochová opened the 25th anniversary NATO Days and the 16th Air Force Days at the Leoš Janáček Airport in Mošnov. At the opening ceremony, Petr Fiala delivered a short speech, visited the exhibition of modern weapons purchased for the Czech Army and met with representatives of the defence industry. The Prime Minister also responded to the current security situation, where Russian drones and aircraft have been violating the airspace of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation in recent days. That is why Petr Fiala-led government decided to establish a coordinating group for anti-drone protection of the state at the State Security Council.

    In an effort to improve the critical humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, the government of Petr Fiala approved a donation of medical supplies worth CZK 1.37 million, primarily intended for the Jordanian field hospitals there. The vote was held by correspondence on Thursday 18 September 2025, with the transport of medical supplies to be provided by the Czech Army.

    The Czech Republic condemns the incursion of Polish airspace by Russian drones on Tuesday night. At its meeting on Wednesday, 10 September 2025, Petr Fiala’s government adopted a clear resolution in support of Poland following the latest provocation by the Russian Federation. Among other things, it also set the rules for calculating the amount of tax revenues that regional and municipal governments receive to provide for education in the school facilities they establish, or set the amount of insurance premiums for state insured persons next year.

    The “People and Their Ancestors” exhibition was inaugurated today at the National Museum in the presence of Prime Minister Petr Fiala, Minister of Culture Martin Baxa and Ethiopia's Minister of Tourism Selamawit Kassa. The highlight is the first ever European display of the original fossils of the famous Lucy and the baby Selam. The loan of some of the most valuable paleoanthropological exhibits in the world from the National Museum of Ethiopia is the result of long-standing diplomatic and professional efforts of the Czech government and partner institutions. The fossils dating more than 3.2 million years back will be on display in Prague until 23 October.

    The Czech Republic is for the first time in history being supplied exclusively with non-Russian oil, via the western route through the TAL and IKL pipelines. The first increased deliveries of non-Russian oil have already arrived from the Italian tanker terminal in Trieste to the Central Oil Tank Farm in Nelahozeves, from where it will be transported to the Litvínov refinery. The supply of non-Russian oil to the Czech Republic is made possible by the TAL-PLUS project, which has increased the capacity of the European TAL pipeline. The completion of this project and its implementation were announced at a press conference by the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Petr Fiala, the Minister of Finance, Zbyněk Stanjura, and the CEO of MERO ČR, Jaroslav Pantůček.
